Aging in Autism: An Event‐Related Potentials Study of Auditory Change Detection

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neuroscience, Volume 64, Issue 8, October 2026.
Automatic change detection (MMN) and preattentional processes (P3a) have been studied in autistic children and young adults, but little is known about how they evolve during aging. We examined MMN and P3a in autistic and nonautistic adults aged 20–69 years. Results show that the neural mechanisms underlying automatic change detection and preattentional

chewR: An Open‐Source R Package for Quantifying Masticatory Performance With Applications in Oral Processing Research

open access: yesJournal of Texture Studies, Volume 57, Issue 5, October 2026.
Masticatory performance is a functional measure of oral physiology that may affect food breakdown and/or eating behavior. Existing methods are labor intensive or require proprietary software; here we describe a new open‐source package, chewR, to measure masticatory performance.
