Absorption of Broadband Low‐Frequency Sound Beyond the Thermodynamics Limit: An Acoustic Resonator With Magnetic Bearing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work presents a magnetic‐bearing acoustic resonator that overcomes the thermodynamics limit of sound absorption. By introducing tunable negative stiffness, it achieves broadband low‐frequency absorption within a compact cavity, far exceeding the performance achievable by classic mass‐tuned designs.

Dynamics of Sounding Rockets at Burnout [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Spacecraft and Rockets, 1974
This paper describes a new "integrated method" that allows sounding-rocket development engineers to determine the effects of various perturbing moments on the oscillatory motion of the vehicle. Furthermore, since a pointmass trajectory, aerodynamic pitching and damping coefficients, and an aeroelastic analysis are required for the basic vehicle design,

Ritualized reflection in human dissection: Liminality, ethical negotiation, and professional identity formation among South Korean medical students

open access: yesAnatomical Sciences Education, EarlyView.
Abstract Human dissection is a foundational component of medical education, yet it places students in profound ethical tension between scientific objectification and respect for human dignity. While prior studies have documented students' emotional responses, the structural transformation of their moral narratives over time, particularly within non ...

MAPHEUS-1: Vehicle, Subsystem Design, Flight Performance And Experiments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
There are numerous materials science experiments in microgravity, which can be realized on sounding rockets, e.g. the gelation of aerogels, directional solidification of alloys and diffusion measurements in metallic melts.

Exploring Sustainable Growth: Eco‐Innovation Among Small and Medium‐Sized Enterprises

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We examined how small and medium‐sized enterprises (SMEs) in the aerospace industry developed capabilities for eco‐innovation, specifically SMEs enrolled in a green transition mentorship programme. To this end, we conducted multiple case studies over 2 years (August 2022 to November 2024) to gather data through semi‐structured interviews with ...

Sustainability and Scope: A Comparative Study of Discretion Making for Sustainability

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The measurability of sustainability is a subject of ongoing debate. Discretion is an important antecedent to such valuation yet remains largely unaddressed. Thus, we conduct a cross‐case study of four organizations, finding differences between product and service firms in how they define their sustainability discretion, which is shaped by and,
