Abstract The performance of three aluminium anode materials has been evaluated for a sub-sea gas transmission line with an external sour environment. Anode capacity tests were carried out in simulated service environments containing sour sea water with 10 ppm H2S and 2000 ppm H2S and sour sediment with 1000 ppm H2S.

The influence of H2S on the performance of platinum catalysts for the water–gas shift reaction was investigated. Platinum catalysts supported on different oxides (γ-Al2O3, ZrO2, CeO2, Ce0.75Zr0.25O2, and Ce0.25Zr0.75O2) were tested under industrial conditions in the absence and presence of H2S.

Estimation of the Water Content of Sour Natural Gases

Abstract Equilibrium water contents of sour natural gases are predicted using the Soave modification of the Redlich-Kwong equation of state. Calculated results are compared with published experimental data and with 180 field observations that were collected from the natural gas industry of western Canada and France.
