Apportionment of primary and secondary organic aerosols in Southern California during the 2005 Study of Organic Aerosols in Riverside (SOAR-1) [PDF]
Ambient sampling was conducted in Riverside, California during the 2005 Study of Organic Aerosols in Riverside to characterize the composition and sources of organic aerosol using a variety of state-of-the-art instrumentation and source apportionment ...

Source Apportionment of Atmospheric Trace Element Deposition
Samples of lichen species (Xanthoria parietina) collected from Aegean Region of Turkey were analyzed by instrumental neutron activation analysis to determine the concentrations of 31 elements. The elements (Au, Rb, Zn, Hg, Sb, Cd, As, Cl, Br, and Se) showed enrichment with respect to the crustal composition.

Atmospheric CO2 dynamics in a coastal megacity: spatiotemporal patterns, sea–land breeze impacts, and anthropogenic–biogenic emission partitioning [PDF]
Attributing observed carbon dioxide (CO2) to fossil-fuel emissions versus biogenic fluxes is essential for assessing urban mitigation, but in coastal megacities it is complicated by anthropogenic–biogenic coupling and sea–land breeze (SLB) circulation ...

The Disappearing State Corporate Income Tax [PDF]
This paper examines alternative explanations for the decline over the past two decades in state corporate income taxes relative to the state economy. We employ a survey of state tax administrators, individual tax returns from Georgia and Utah, and panel ...

Source apportionment with one source unknown
Abstract Attribution of local pollution to area sources is essential to effective management of the environment. Source apportionment addresses the problem by statistical inference of source contributions to total pollution from observations of ambient air chemical composition.

Field comparison of dual- and single-spot Aethalometers: equivalent black carbon, light absorption, Ångström exponent and secondary brown carbon estimations [PDF]
The Aethalometer is a widely used instrument for black carbon (BC) mass concentration and light absorption coefficient (babs) measurements around the world. However, field intercomparison of the two popular models, dual-spot (AE33) and single-spot (AE31)
