Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

L’écriture collective du code source informatique

open access: yesRevue d'anthropologie des connaissances, 2012
This article analyzes the collective writing of software source code. Software source code is a set of textual documents that formally specify the behavior of software – its script. The article draws on work in the sociology of science and technology and

Automatic Source Code Summarization with Extended Tree-LSTM [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE International Joint Conference on Neural Network, 2019
Neural machine translation models are used to automatically generate a document from given source code since this can be regarded as a machine translation task.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Lossless source coding for multiple access networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
A multiple access source code (MASC) is a source code designed for the following network configuration: a pair of jointly distributed information sequences {Xi}i=1∞ and {Yi}i=1∞ is drawn i.i.d. according to joint probability mass function (p.m.f.) p(x,y);

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

The BELLFLOW system [PDF]

open access: yes, 1970
The BELLFLOW flowcharting system was developed to meet certain Bell System standards of documentation. There are three modes of operation with the BELLFLOW system: source mode, comment mode, and mixed mode.

On the Effect of Semantically Enriched Context Models on Software Modularization

open access: yes, 2017
Many of the existing approaches for program comprehension rely on the linguistic information found in source code, such as identifier names and comments.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.
