Source Coding with Fixed Lag Side Information
We consider source coding with fixed lag side information at the decoder. We focus on the special case of perfect side information with unit lag corresponding to source coding with feedforward (the dual of channel coding with feedback) introduced by ...

Universal multiresolution source codes [PDF]
Summary: A multiresolution source code is a single code giving an embedded source description that can be read at a variety of rates and thereby yields reproductions at a variety of resolutions. The resolution of a source reproduction here refers to the accuracy with which it approximates the original source. Thus, a reproduction with low distortion is

TRPM8 levels determine tumor vulnerability to channel agonists
TRPM8 is a Ca2+ permissive channel. Regardless of the amount of its transcript, high levels of TRPM8 protein mark different tumors, including prostate, breast, colorectal, and lung carcinomas. Targeting TRPM8 with channel agonists stimulates inward calcium currents followed by emptying of cytosolic Ca2+ stores in cancer cells.

In patients treated with atezolizumab as a part of the MyPathway (NCT02091141) trial, pre‐treatment ctDNA tumor fraction at high levels was associated with poor outcomes (radiographic response, progression‐free survival, and overall survival) but better sensitivity for blood tumor mutational burden (bTMB).

Learning-Aided Unary Error Correction Codes for Non-Stationary and Unknown Sources
Unary error correction (UEC) codes have recently been proposed for the joint source and channel coding of symbol values that are selected from a set having an infinite cardinality.

Genomics‐led approach to drug testing in models of undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma
GA text Genomic data from undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma patients and preclinical models were used to inform a targeted drug screen. Selected compounds were tested in 2D and 3D cultures of UPS cell lines. A combination of trametinib and infigratinib was synergistic in the majority of UPS cell lines tested, which was further confirmed in an ex ...

A nucleotide‐independent, pan‐RAS‐targeted DARPin elicits anti‐tumor activity in a multimodal manner
We report a Designed Ankyrin Repeat Protein that binds and inhibits RAS proteins, which serve as central cell signaling hubs and are essential for the progression of many cancers. Its unique feature is that it does not discriminate between different RAS isoforms or mutations and is capable of binding to RAS in both its active (GTP‐bound) and inactive ...

Unraveling LINE‐1 retrotransposition in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma
The novel RetroTest method allows the detection of L1 activation in clinical samples with low DNA input, providing global L1 activity and the identification of the L1 source element. We applied RetroTest to a real‐world cohort of HNSCC patients where we reported an early L1 activation, with more than 60% of T1 patients showing L1 activity.

This paper examines erasure resilience of oversampled filter bank (OFB) codes, focusing on two families of codes based on cosine-modulated filter banks (CMFB). We first revisit OFBs in light of filter bank and frame theory.
