Overview of dipole source localization
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Clinics of North America, 2004Truly accurate dipole source localization relies on having (1) reliable, artifact-free EP/ERP (or magnetoelectroencephalogram) data to start with; (2) landmark and electrode position data obtained with a three-dimensional digitizer; (3) MRI (or CT) data from the same subject (with a means to measure the same landmarks); (4) the capability to apply ...

Environmental limits to source localization
1995 International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2002Extension of the operational range of underwater location techniques has been related to the incorporation of reliable acoustic propagation models, that closely predict the behaviour of oceans. In this paper, the performance of ocean tomography and passive localization of underwater acoustic sources is studied, by analyzing the coupling of performance ...

From EEG source localization to source imaging
Acta Neurologica Scandinavica, 1994A new functional imaging technique, "FOCUS", has been developed to transform the traditional scalp EEG into an image of source activities. The image is based on multiple spatio-temporal dipole models and consists of gross spatial patterns and source waveforms reflecting the estimated activities of the different brain regions.

The Ignition of Gases by Local Sources.
Chemical Reviews, 1937When energy is released by a local source such as an electric spark in a combustible gaseous mixture, it is assumed to heat instantaneously a small volume and also to create active particles, chain carriers, which diffuse through the gas and increase in number by chain-branching processes at a rate proportional to their concentration.

Parameter convergence in source localization
2016 IEEE Conference on Control Applications (CCA), 2016A source localization problem which is nonlinear is converted to a structured-noise linear problem. An algorithm is proposed and its convergence has been established.

Trends in EEG source localization
Electroencephalography and Clinical Neurophysiology, 1998The concepts underlying the quantitative localization of the sources of the EEG inside the brain are reviewed along with the current and emerging approaches to the problem. The concepts mentioned include monopolar and dipolar source models and head models ranging from the spherical to the more realistic based on boundary and finite elements.

EEG dipole source localization
IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Magazine, 1998Considers using inverse solutions for determining source locations. Dipole source localization using EEGs recorded from the scalp is widely used to make estimates of the locations of sources of electrical activity in the brain. Such information can be very useful for both clinical and research applications.

Multi-Source Localization Strategies
2001Localization of multiple acoustic sources is an important task in many practical applications. However, in most cases adopted models are not fully adequate to describe real scenarios. In particular, in the presence of reverberation, the signal model should explicitly take into account both signals radiated by multiple sources and reflections.
