DEPLOYMENT MODEL FOR SOFTWARE PROCESSES IN COLLABORATIVE AND DISTRIBUTED ENVIRONMENTS TYPICAL OF FREE AND OPEN-SOURCE FLOSS COMMUNITIES

open access: yesRevista Ingenierías Universidad de Medellín
This article presents the development of a model for deploying software processes within the context of free and open-source software FLOSS communities, characterized by the voluntary participation of people geographically distributed in different ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Deep Gaussian Process-Based Bayesian Inference for Contaminant Source Localization

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
This paper proposes a Bayesian framework for localization of multiple sources in the event of accidental hazardous contaminant release. The framework assimilates sensor measurements of the contaminant concentration with the integrated multizone ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

open access: yesElektrotehnìka ta Elektroenergetika, 2008
Исследованы особенности электромагнитных процессов в 4q-s преобразователе при питании от однофазного источника. Выявлены особенности режимов работы фильтров, связанные с ограниченной частотой коммутации полностью управляемых силовых ключей.

Prevalence of asymmetrical rupture in small earthquakes and its effect on the estimation of stress drop: a systematic investigation in inland Japan

open access: yesGeoscience Letters, 2019
Stress drops of small earthquakes have been estimated under the assumption that the rupture propagates symmetrically within a circular fault. However, recent studies have observed directivity effects on seismic waves even for small earthquakes.
