A Novel Modified Petroresin Particle (MPRP) With Enhanced Oil–Water Selectivity for Cold Production in Heavy Oil Reservoirs

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A novel oil–water selective conformance control agent, MPRP, is prepared via hydrophilic grafting and mechanical granulation. MPRP uniformly disperses in water, cohesively expands upon aging, and readily dissolves in the oil phase. During conformance control, it selectively aggregates in water channeling pathways to form effective plugs without ...

Classification evaluation criteria and exploration potential of tight oil resources in key basins of China

open access: yesJournal of Natural Gas Geoscience, 2019
In general, the migration distance of continental tight oil in China is relatively short, and the formation and distribution are mainly controlled by the tectonic setting, source rock, reservoir, and source-reservoir matching relationship.

From Geometry to Function: Programmable Mechanical Response in 3D‐Printed Adipose‐Inspired Soft Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Geometry‐driven design of soft cellular metamaterials is systematically investigated by combining experiments, finite element modeling, and statistical prediction. The study quantifies how unit cell geometry and material properties govern stiffness, instability, densification, and energy absorption.

Stratigraphic

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Petroleum, 2013
The stratigraphic distribution of the palynomorphs and particulate organic matter was studied in the subsurface Lower/Middle Cretaceous sections in Ii-26-1 and Ig-30-1 wells, located in north Western Desert of Egypt.

Dopant Distribution in Ga‐Implanted CdO—A Correlative Microscopy and Molecular Dynamics Study

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that ion implantation offset angle could modulate carrier concentration and mobility in cadmium oxide thin films. Combining correlative microscopy workflow and molecular dynamics simulations, this study reveals the control of interfacial cluster density with tailoring implantation angles, and the optimum offset angle that ...

Hydrocarbon generation potential and geochemical characteristics comparison of source rocks in the Southwestern Qaidam basin, China

open access: yesScientific Reports
A primary source rock has developed in the Upper part of the Lower Ganchaigou Formation (E3 2) in the southwestern Qaidam Basin, China. This basin features typical brackish-saline lacustrine deposits, necessitating careful selection of appropriate ...

Source rock evaluation for hydrocarbon generation in Halal oilfield, southern

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Petroleum, 2016
The aim of this paper is to define the source rock potential of hydrocarbon generation through the determination of: (1) the quantity of organic matter, (2) present day kerogen types, (3) thermal maturity and (4) source organic matter input and ...

Functionalizing Micro‐to‐Mesoscopic Electrode Architectures for Regulating Electron Transfer Behaviors in Electrocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A systematic review is conducted to assess the influence of electrode architecture across micro‐ to mesoscopic length scales on electron‐transfer pathways in electrocatalysis. We discuss the structure‐activity relationships in electrocatalytic applications, including resource recovery and environmental remediation, and provide cost‐effective, efficient

Mitigating Concentration Polarization in Dry‐Processed Ultra‐Thick Cathodes Using a Low‐Viscosity Electrolyte With Soft Li+ Solvation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A low‐viscosity, soft‐solvating methyl ethanoate (ME)‐based electrolyte facilitates electrolyte infiltration into dense dry‐processed ultra‐thick NCM622 cathodes while reducing Li+ desolvation barriers at Li‐metal anodes. Balanced cathode‐scale ion transport and anode‐side interfacial kinetics mitigate concentration polarization and interfacial ...

Mechanisms of Degradation in Li‐Ion Batteries Under Low Temperature Exposures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Low‐temperature exposures, or freeze‐thaw cycles, are observed to significantly accelerate the degradation of Li‐ion batteries. A combination of electrolyte phase separation and mechanochemical stress leads to reversible and irreversible performance losses.
