Abstract Boreal forests cover nearly one‐third of global forest area. Glacial cycles have shaped the distribution and connectivity of modern Pinaceae genera, yet species‐level refugia, postglacial migrations, and hybridization patterns remain unclear due to limited high‐resolution taxonomic and temporal data. We applied a hybridization capture approach

Industrial restructuring in transitional Baltic Sea Region countries (Baltic States, Kaliningrad oblast) [PDF]
This paper analyses recent trends in industrial development in the Baltic Sea transition countries. The heavy industry collapsed during the first half of 1990s in most former socialist countries.

Warming enhances protozooplankton top‐down control and nutrient competition
Abstract Protozooplankton regulate microbial food webs through top‐down control and nutrient cycling, yet their grazing impacts under ocean warming, particularly in subsurface chlorophyll maximum (SCM) layers, remain poorly understood. This study investigated spatial and seasonal variability in protozooplankton grazing in the northern East China Sea ...

Evaluation of the recreational landscape potential of the south-eastern Baltic sea resorts
Based on the meaning of two separate terms, the recreational landscape is defined as the territorial combination of the natural and anthropogenic components of the earth’s surface connected with material, energy, and information, resulting in the recovery of physical and spiritual forces.

The Occurrence of Microplastic Ingestion in Commercial Marine Fish in Miri, Sarawak, Malaysia
ABSTRACT Microplastics are polymer‐based particle compositions of various toxic chemicals with size less than 5 mm. Due to their small size, microplastics can be ingested and accumulate in body tissues of organisms. This raises concerns about their toxicity being transferred to humans via food consumption.

Abstract This study presents data on geographically small‐scale patterns of nitrogen (N) isotope signals (δ15N) within the northern South China Sea (SCS) imprinted on planktic foraminifers (PF). PF from net tows on the shelf, continental slope, and in pelagic waters from summer 2019 were analyzed for δ15N.

Drivers of Interannual to Decadal Sea Level Variability in Northern Europe—Data Driven Approach
Abstract Coastal sea level reflects not only global trends but also complex regional and local processes acting across multiple temporal and spatial scales, which are often missed by large‐scale climate models. To address this, we use a data‐driven approach to examine potential drivers of interannual to decadal sea level variability in northern Europe.
