A new dentition-based phylogeny of Litopterna (Mammalia: Placentalia) and “archaic” South American ungulates [PDF]
Ever since the discovery of Macrauchenia patachonica by Charles Darwin in 1834, the affinities of litopterns—a group of extinct South American Native Ungulates (SANUs)—have been elusive.

Stigma, self‐styling and ‘forced accents’ among English L2 speakers in Spain
Abstract This paper examines the relationship between shame, stigma and accent for non‐native English speakers in Spain. The low English competence of the Spanish population frequently constitutes a source of individual and collective stigma – which includes the apparent undesirability of Spanish‐sounding English.

We synthesized GPS telemetry, genetic, and pathogen data to evaluate metapopulation processes in a reintroduced Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep (Ovis canadensis canadensis) population in Dinosaur National Monument. We estimated subpopulation‐specific abundances and found 4 small subpopulations with high genetic diversity, partial connectivity, and ...

Does input soil and land‐use quality affect SWAT parameter transfer in neighbouring watersheds? Our proxy‐basin experiment in two small agricultural watersheds under crop–livestock rotations showed that capturing LULC dynamics and refining soil characterization can substantially enhance parameter transferability to ungauged neighbouring watersheds ...

The alleged astragalar remains of Didolodus Ameghino, 1897 (Mammalia, Panameriungulata) and a critic of isolated bone association models [PDF]
Postcranial characters of South American native ungulates are important in order to analyze their relationships in the actual therian taxonomy, particularly to test their alleged afrotherian affinities.

ABSTRACT Adaptive Multi‐Paddock (AMP) grazing involves alternating short‐duration, high‐intensity grazing with extended recovery periods. It offers the potential to regenerate degraded rangelands while enhancing productivity. We compared vegetation, soil carbon, and water infiltration responses between nine matched pairs of ranches in North and South ...

Effects of selective harvest on antler size of white‐tailed deer in Texas, USA
We conducted 20 years of experiments on the selective harvest of white‐tailed deer by antler size, judged inferior, in 2 areas of South Texas, USA. Selective harvest increased the phenotypic antler size of older males in one study area but not the other. There was little evidence of evolution resulting from selective harvesting. Abstract There has been
