The Acetaminophen Experience in South Florida
Journal of Forensic Sciences, 1983Abstract Toxicology records of the Dade County Medical Examiner Department were reviewed for the years 1972 to 1981. Any case in which acetaminophen was detected, regardless of the cause of death, was included in the study. Of 95 cases where acetaminophen was detected, no trends were observable in age, sex, or race.

Access to Arthroplasty in South Florida
The Journal of Arthroplasty, 2012Our objective was to compare the availability of hip and knee arthroplasty to an adult insured by Medicaid and by private insurance. All orthopedic surgeons' offices in a South Florida county were contacted by telephone and presented with a hypothetical patient that needed either a hip or a knee arthroplasty for end stage arthritis.

South Florida Ambient Pesticide Monitoring Program
Ecotoxicology, 2004The South Florida Water Management District is a state agency that manages surface and ground water quantity and quality in south Florida. Since 1984 surface water and sediment have been sampled for pesticides at various frequencies and locations in the District's 1400-mile system of canals.

Pesticides in Canals of South Florida
Archives of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology, 1997Atrazine, ametryn, bromacil, simazine and norflurazon were the most frequently detected pesticides in surface water samples and DDE, DDD and ametryn were the most frequently detected pesticides in sediment samples collected over the period November 1991 to June 1995 in a monitoring network that includes 27 stations in south Florida canals.
