Effect of Optical Illumination on Bubble Nanodomains

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Stable surface‐confined nanoscale bubble domains are created and manipulated in PMN‐PT single crystals. Under above‐bandgap illumination, these bubble nanodomains remain unchanged. However, upon illumination cessation, they rapidly expand to switch the entire crystal surface, due to the accumulation of a large reservoir of electrons at the crystal ...

Millennial‐Scale Changes in Atmospheric Nitrous Oxide During the Holocene

open access: yesEarth and Space Science
Nitrous oxide (N2O) is an important greenhouse gas which destroys the ozone in the stratosphere. Primary sources of atmospheric N2O are nitrification and denitrification in terrestrial soils and the ocean, and the main sink is photolysis in the ...

Structural Power Composites Based on High Mass Loading Zn‐Ion Hybrid Supercapacitors with Metal Mesh Current Collectors and Aramid Nanofiber/Glass Fiber Composite Electrolytes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A multifunctional structural power composite is developed by integrating high‐mass‐loading Zn‐ion hybrid supercapacitors with metal mesh current collectors and aramid nanofiber‐based composite electrolytes, enabling simultaneous load‐bearing capability and enhanced areal energy storage.

Tannic Acid‐Modified Cellulose Nanofiber Reinforced Polymerizable Eutectogels for High‐Performance Stretchable Strain Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A polymerizable deep eutectic solvent is reinforced with tannic acid‐modified cellulose nanofibers to construct a hierarchical dynamic eutectogel network. Synergistic covalent and reversible interactions impart ultrahigh stretchability, high ionic conductivity, broad temperature tolerance, self‐healing, and strong adhesion, enabling robust wearable ...

„Zaiste, nikt im losu zazdrościć nie może”. Robert Falcon Scott i Apsley Cherry-Garrard o swoich zwierzętach w drodze na biegun południowy

open access: yesZoophilologica, 2015
The article is devoted to the attitudes of Robert Falcon Scott and his expedition companions towards animals on the way to the South Pole – both the animals they brought with them on the ship “Terra Nova” and those they encountered in Antarctica.

Control Network Construction for LRO NAC Images Based on Refining Tie Points by Matching With Shaded LOLA DEM

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing
The upcoming exploration activities in the lunar south pole require high-resolution mapping products to support landing site selection and navigation. The special terrain and illumination conditions in the lunar south pole pose significant challenges to ...

Comparison of UV irradiance measurements at Summit, Greenland; Barrow, Alaska; and South Pole, Antarctica [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2008
An SUV-150B spectroradiometer for measuring solar ultraviolet (UV) irradiance was installed at Summit, Greenland, in August 2004. Here we compare the initial data from this new location with similar measurements from Barrow, Alaska, and South Pole ...

ALMA IMAGING AND GRAVITATIONAL LENS MODELS OF SOUTH POLE TELESCOPE—SELECTED DUSTY, STAR-FORMING GALAXIES AT HIGH REDSHIFTS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The South Pole Telescope has discovered 100 gravitationally lensed, high-redshift, dusty, star-forming galaxies (DSFGs). We present 0.″5 resolution 870 Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array imaging of a sample of 47 DSFGs spanning , and construct ...

Biomimetic Vascular Scaffold with Seamless Electrospun Aligned Nanofiber Conduit and 3D‐Printed Coil Reinforcement

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We introduce a new fabrication method that overcomes the current limitation of tubular gap electrospinning. We successfully fabricated a seamless hollow tube with fibers aligned along the longitudinal axis in diameters as small as 300 µm, and then reinforced it using 4‐axis 3D printing.

Geologic History of the Northern Portion of the South Pole‐Aitken Basin on the Moon

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research - Planets, 2018
We conducted a detailed photogeological analysis of the northern portion of the South Pole‐Aitken (SPA) basin (10–60°S, 125–175°W) and compiled a geological map (1:500,000 scale) of this region.
