On classification of finite dimensional algebras [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
Classification and invariants, with respect to basis changes, of finite dimensional algebras are considered. An invariant open, dense (in the Zariscki topology) subset of the space of structural constants is defined. The algebras with structural constants from this set are classified and a basis to the field of invariant rational functions of ...

Global extinction of Slender‐billed Curlew (Numenius tenuirostris)

open access: yesIbis, Volume 167, Issue 2, Page 357-370, April 2025.
In the current biodiversity crisis, conservation efforts are often focused on extinction prevention. However, it can be difficult to determine if a species is extinct, especially if the species has an extensive range, including being a transcontinental migrant, or is poorly known. The breeding range of the migratory Critically Endangered Slender‐billed

On relation between rational and differential rational invariants of surfaces with respect to the motion groups [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
The description of invariants of surfaces with respect to the motion groups is reduced to the description of invariants of parameterized surfaces with respect to the motion groups. Existence of a commuting system of invariant partial differential operators (derivatives) and a finite system of invariants, such that any invariant of the surface is a ...

The Yenisei Makes the Weather: The Microclimate of the Krasnoyarsk Dam and Its Research, 1960s–1990s

open access: yesThe Russian Review, Volume 84, Issue 2, Page 249-266, April 2025.
Abstract When Soviet authorities began building the Krasnoyarsk Dam in 1956, the Yenisei River had an ice‐free period of only 112 days a year. The thick and long‐lasting ice impeded dam building and navigation. However, as the dam rose, it produced an environmental anomaly; for more than 200 kilometers downstream, the Yenisei became ice‐free year‐round.

Mityagin's Extension Problem. Progress Report [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
Given a compact set $K\subset {\Bbb R}^d,$ let ${\mathcal E}(K)$ denote the space of Whitney jets on $K$. The compact set $K$ is said to have the extension property if there exists a continuous linear extension operator $W:{\mathcal E}(K) \longrightarrow C^{\infty}({\Bbb R}^d)$. In 1961 B. S.

Contrasting Arctic Amplification Response in the Community Earth System Model Large Ensembles and Implications for the North Atlantic Region

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 130, Issue 6, 28 March 2025.
Abstract The response of the polar jet to climate warming and rapid Arctic change is a leading uncertainty in climate projections and critical to the future of mid‐latitude surface weather. Previous studies suggest that CMIP5‐6 model projections fall into two groups of either Arctic‐ or tropically‐driven climate change, especially in the North Atlantic.
