Aquatic Radiocarbon Reservoir Offsets in the Southeastern Baltic

open access: yesRadiocarbon, 2015
The aim of this article is to discuss radiocarbon dating offsets due to freshwater and marine reservoir effects (FRE and MRE, respectively) in the southeastern Baltic. Thirty-six 14C dates from Lithuanian coastal and inland Subneolithic, Neolithic, and Bronze Age sites as well as two Mesolithic-Neolithic cemeteries are presented here.

Polychaetes of Marenzelleria Genus (Spionidae) in the Southeastern Baltic Sea (Russian EEZ)

Russian Journal of Biological Invasions, 2018
The habitation of two closely related polychaete species of Marenzelleria genus in the Southeastern Baltic Sea is proved for the first time by a morphological approach. M. neglecta lives in the shallow, euthrophic, oligohaline Vistula and Curonian lagoons. M. arctia dwells in relatively deep, mesothrophic and mesohaline marine waters down to the depths

Radiational Tides at the Southeastern Coast of the Baltic Sea

Океанология, 2015
The tides in the Baltic Sea are weak but unmistakably recognizable in sea-level spectra. Multiyear hourly tide gauge series enable us to examine specific tidal properties in detail and to identify some unexpected effects. Two nearby stations on the southeastern coast of the sea, namely Baltiysk, located in the strait connecting the Vistula Lagoon to ...
