Taxonomic identities of Coelogyne roseans, C. chen‐tsii and C. niana (Coelogyninae, Orchidaceae)

The taxonomic identities of Coelogyne roseans (= Pholidota roseans) and C. niana (= P. niana) have long been misunderstood. A taxonomic reappraisal of the mangrove genus Avicennia in India was undertaken through extensive field surveys and critical examination of herbarium specimens. A new combination in Strophopappus (Asteraceae, Vernonieae, Lepidaploinae)

Revisions of herbarium collections reveal a new combination in Strophopappus (Asteraceae, Vernonieae, Lepidaploinae). Strophopappus comprises nine species occurring in South America, eight of which are endemic to Brazil. Currently, Vernonia riedeliana is treated as a synonym of Strophopappus bicolor.
