The aims of the study were to evaluate the age at diagnosis, tumor stage, MYCN status, and tumor histopathology, and to relate these factors to survival.

Breastfeeding and Socioeconomic Status in Southern Brazil
Acta Paediatrica, 1986ABSTRACT. Patterns of breastfeeding were studied in a cohort of 5 914 infants followed from birth in Pelotas, Southern Brazil. Overall, 92% of the babies commenced breastfeeding and 54% were still breastfed by 3 months of age. This proportion dropped to 30% by 6 months, 20% by 9 months, and 16% by 12 months.

Weaning in Southern Brazil: Is There a “Weanling's Dilemma”?
The Journal of Nutrition, 1994In Pelotas, Brazil, 400 newborns from low income families were followed-up until 26 wk of life to study the relationship between their feeding patterns and growth as modified by access to water and by diarrhea. Effects of access to water were the strongest among non-breastfed infants.

Perinatal mortality in lambs in Southern Brazil
Tropical Animal Health and Production, 1996Hypothermia and dystocia were found to be the most common causes of perinatal mortality in 8 commercial wool flocks in one region of southern Brazil. It was established that low birth weight and poor maternal instinct in the ewes predisposed to losses due to hypothermia but that there appeared to be no association with adverse weather conditions. Culture, Health & Sexuality, 2009This paper reports of the socio-medical management of intersexuality in a teaching hospital in southern Brazil. Findings reveal that the 'search for sex' in the body treats sex as a medical-diagnostic category constructed during decision-making negotiations.
