Axial morphology along the Southern Chile Rise [PDF]
Abstract Morphology of four spreading segments on the southern Chile Rise is described based on multi-beam bathymetric data collected along the axial zones. The distribution of axial volcanoes, the character of rift valley scarps, and the average depths vary between Segment 1 in the south, terminating at the Chile Triple Junction, and Segment 4 in ...

Postseismic coastal uplift in southern Chile
Tide gage records at Puerto Montt, referenced to a mareograph in Talcahuano, indicate a large (at least 75 cm) postseismic uplift of the region following the 1960 Mw = 9.5 event. Field observations carried out in 1989 at the same locations of previous measurements in 1968 are consistent with tide gage records.
