Effect of Temperature on the Development and the Mortality of the Southern Green Stink Bug, Nezara viridula and the Oriental Green Stink Bug, N. antennata

open access: yesJapanese journal of applied entomology and zoology, 1961

Essential nutrients’ availability in pecan orchards affected by salinity in southern New Mexico and western Texas

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 9, Issue 1, March 2026.
Abstract Pecans [Carya illinoinensis (Wangenh.) K. Koch] are widely cultivated in the semi‐arid and arid regions of New Mexico and Texas, where irrigation relies heavily on the Rio Grande River and brackish groundwater. This study evaluated the impact of these water sources on soil physicochemical properties, nutrient availability, and pecan tree ...

Disentangling the effects of multifunctional forestry practices on the abundances of birds and their invertebrate prey

open access: yesEcological Applications, Volume 36, Issue 2, March 2026.
Abstract European forests are increasingly managed to harmonize production goals with biodiversity conservation, through practices such as retention and close‐to‐nature forestry. Forest birds may benefit from these practices, but it remains unclear how the effects of different management practices compare, and whether responses to management are driven

Development of eNA Sampling for Early Detection of Pathogens in On‐Farm Water Sources

open access: yesEnvironmental DNA, Volume 8, Issue 2, March/April 2026.
We compare four water‐sampling methods for detecting microbial and viral eNA in livestock troughs and show all approaches effectively recover community profiles, supporting flexible, field‐ready surveillance of livestock pathogens. ABSTRACT Early detection of livestock pathogens is critical for mitigating risk and implementing timely control or ...

Stink bugs on soybean in northeastern Brazil and a new record on the southern green stink bug, Nezara viridula (L.) (Heteroptera: Pentatomidae) [PDF]

open access: yesNeotropical Entomology, 2002
During March-April 2001, a survey of pentatomids associated with soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merrill] was conducted at northeastern Brazil (Balsas County – Maranhão State - latitude 7°31'S, longitude 46°02'W). The majority of the phytophagous bugs (82.4%) belonged to the species Euschistus heros (F.).

Effects of Various Photoperiods on Color and Pubescence in \u3ci\u3eThyanta Calceata\u3c/i\u3e (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Rearing immatures of Thyanta calceata in a Iange of photoperiods showed that a threshold photoperiod is involved in the adult dimorphic response (color and pubescence) with the mean threshold near 12.5L: 11.5D.
