Using ichnofossils to characterize chert tools: A preliminary study from Southern Iberia
Geoarchaeology, 2010AbstractCharacterizing raw material of stone tools used by Late Neolithic and Copper Age communities is important for interpreting access to available sources and establishing regional routes of distribution. Ichnological analysis may be used to help characterize lithic material and determine the source of artifacts.

Filling the gap: first evidence of early Tortonian continental deposits in southern Iberia
Journal of Vertebrate Paleontology, 2012The oldest Miocene continental fauna in the Guadix-Baza depression from southern Spain is described in this paper. The small mammals remains from Cortijo de la Piedra fossil localities have a latest Vallesian (early Tortonian) age, and provide evidence of late Vallesian continental environments, which were unknown until now in southern Iberia.
