Melt Architecture Under East Asian Volcanoes Revealed by Anisotropic Tomography

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 130, Issue 12, December 2025.
Abstract Cenozoic volcanic rocks in East Asia are widespread across subduction zones, oceanic plates, and continental interiors. The generation of these volcanic materials is closely associated with partial melting of the upper mantle and the stagnation of the Pacific slab in the mantle transition zone.

Diagenetic processes controlled by volcanic detritus of the Lower‐Middle Permian Shanxi and Shihezi sandstone formations, North Ordos Basin, China

open access: yesThe Depositional Record, Volume 11, Issue 5, Page 1645-1668, November 2025.
Comparisons of Lower‐Middle Permian Shanxi and Lower Shihezi formations from the North Ordos Basin reveal that different types and percentages of volcanic detritus induced by active magmatic cycles can significantly change diagenetic evolution and favourable reservoirs.

Day‐to‐Day Temperature Variability in Meteorological Observations and Reanalysis Data Over China

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, Volume 12, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract Temperature variability on the synoptic scale is most directly related to human perception, and requires more attention from scientists and researchers. This study quantifies the day‐to‐day temperature variability (DTD) as the absolute value of the difference between the air temperatures from two consecutive days, and analyzes the ...

Prediction of volcanic fractures based on prestack azimuthal anisotropy: A case study of LFS area in southern Songliao Basin [PDF]

open access: yesYouqicang pingjia yu kaifa
Anisotropic parameter inversion based on pre-stack azimuth gather seismic data is one of the primary methods for fracture prediction, among which two algorithms, RüGER approximate equation and Fourier series expansion, are more widely used.

Multi-scale CT imaging technique characterization of volcanic rock reservoirs: a study case from the Changling fault depression of the southern Songliao Basin

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
The Changling fault depression in the southern Songliao Basin hosts volcanic rock reservoirs with significant oil and gas potential, yet their complex pore structures require advanced characterization to optimize resource exploration. To address this, we

Changing seasonality and advanced mean date of annual maximum daily precipitation in major river basins of China (1960–2018)

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters
Extreme rainfall seasonality plays a critical role in vegetation growth, agricultural production, and water resource management. Under global warming, increasing attention has been paid to its seasonal shifts and nonstationarity characteristics.
