KARST OF THE SOUTHERN URALS AND THE CIS-URALS, THE CURRENT ACTIVITY OF IT’S DEVELOPMENT
Geologicheskii vestnik, 2022Recent studies have established a close relationship of surface karst manifesta-tions and deformations of buildings and structures with buried forms of paleohy-dronet. The development of territories previously considered unsuitable for construc-tion purposes is inevitably accompanied by a serious human impact on the geological environment and, as a ...

Population structure of common juniper in the Cis-Urals and Southern Urals
Contemporary Problems of Ecology, 2016The population structure of common juniper (Juniperus communis L.) growing in the Cis-Urals and Southern Urals has been studied using 17 morphological traits of generative and vegetative organs. A multivariate analysis of ten coenopopulations has recognized three phenotypically different local populations: Cis-Ural, forest Cis-Ural forest-steppe, and ...

Sources of material drift into the Ural foredeep at the beginning of collision (Southern Urals)
2023Introduction. This work is devoted to the study of the sources of   drift material during the formation of Late Paleozoic deposits of the southern part of the Pre-Ural trough. Sample for the study was taken in a quarry near the Urgala region, Bashkortostan area. The section is represented by conglomerates with a sand matrix.

The Southern Urals radiation studies
Radiation and Environmental Biophysics, 2002In the late 1940s and early 1950s the nuclear workers of the Mayak Production Association in the Southern Urals were exposed to high doses from gamma-rays and from incorporated plutonium. In addition, the population of the Techa riverside downstream of the plutonium-production sites received continued exposures from external gamma-rays due to fission ...

The isostatic state of the southern Urals crust
Geologische Rundschau, 1999The Uralide orogen, in Central Russia, is the focus of intense geoscientific investigations during recent years. The international research is motivated by some unusual lithospheric features compared with other collisional belts including the preservation of (a) a collisional architecture with an orogenic root and a crustal thickness of 55–58 km, and ...

RADIOLOGICAL MEDICAL DATA PRESERVATION IN THE SOUTHERN URALS
Health Physics, 2000Information is being microfilmed and scanned in the Southern Urals to ensure the archival preservation of the unique, important and irreplaceable records documenting chronic low-level radiation exposure to workers and neighboring populations of the Mayak Production Association (MAYAK), as well as health effects.

Diatoms of the middle reaches of the Ural River (Southern Urals, Russia)
Issues of modern algology (Вопросы современной альгологии)Investigation of diatoms of the middle course of the Ural River and analysis of literature data resulted in findings of 219 taxa with a rank below the genus, belonging to 63 genera, 29 families, 18 orders and three classes. Twenty-seven species of diatoms were found for the middle course of the Ural River for the first time.

Sources of anthropogenic radionuclides in the southern Urals
Journal of Environmental Radioactivity, 1992Abstract About two-thirds of the 137 Cs deposition 10 to 25 km west of Kamensk Uralskyi in the southern Urals comes from unreported releases to the environment. In this area, the contamination from the Kyshtym accident in 1957 was measured at 10 to 60 kBq 90 Sr m −2 , while the deposition of 137 Cs from this accident was less than 1 kBq m −2 ...
