Extraction of temporal networks from term co-occurrences in online textual sources. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
A stream of unstructured news can be a valuable source of hidden relations between different entities, such as financial institutions, countries, or persons. We present an approach to continuously collect online news, recognize relevant entities in them,

The interactions and trade-offs of sovereign Credit Default SWAP (CDS) and bond spreads in a dynamic context

open access: yesJournal of Business Economics and Management, 2019
This study provides a dynamic analysis of the lead-lag relationship between sovereign Credit Default Swap (CDS) and bond spreads of the highly indebted southern European countries, considering an extensive time sample from the period before the global ...

Exchange rates, credit default swaps and market volatility of emerging markets: Panel CS-ARDL approach

open access: yesBorsa Istanbul Review
Using the panel-data approach with a sample of emerging countries, this study examines the relationship between exchange-rate movements from 2011 to 2022, on the one hand, and sovereign debt credit default swap (CDS) premiums and market volatility, on ...

Identification of a Shiga toxin A‐derived peptide internalized into Gb3 receptor‐bearing cells via interaction with the Shiga toxin B subunit

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The process of internalization of the Shiga toxin A subunit via formation of a complex with the Shiga toxin B subunit, which specifically binds to the Gb3 receptor. The peptide is designed to act as a carrier of drugs into cancer cells. Here, we explored the potential of peptides derived from the catalytic A subunit of Shiga toxin (STxA) to be drug ...

Nonlinearities in Sovereign Risk Pricing: The Role of CDS Index Contracts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Is the pricing of sovereign risk linear during bearish episodes? Or can initial shocks on economic fundamentals be exacerbated by endogenous factors that create nonlinearities? We test for nonlinearities in the sovereign bond market of European peripheral countries during the debt crisis and explain them. Our estimates based on a panel smooth threshold

An epithelial GPR35 isoform supports tumor‐associated transcriptional and metabolic phenotypes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
GPR35 generates two functionally distinct isoforms with previously unresolved roles. GPR35‐short mediates immune‐cell chemotaxis, while GPR35‐long is enriched in colorectal cancer epithelium, where it supports increased metabolism, proliferation, and tumor‐associated transcriptional programs.

The dynamics of spillover effects during the european sovereign debt turmoil : [draft: october 29, 2012] [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In this paper we develop empirical measures for the strength of spillover effects. Modifying and extending the framework by Diebold and Yilmaz (2011), we quantify spillovers between sovereign credit markets and banks in the euro area.

Predictability dynamics of emerging sovereign CDS markets [PDF]

open access: yesEconomics Letters, 2017
We compare the time-varying weak-form efficiency of Credit Default Swap (CDS) markets of 15 emerging countries by using permutation entropy approach. We find that CDS markets have different degrees of time-varying efficiency. Using several robustness test, we find that Thailand, China, South Korea and Malaysia have the most efficient CDS markets while ...

Engineering peptides into antibodies—opportunities and strategies for therapeutic innovation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Peptides and antibodies occupy complementary therapeutic niches. Peptides recognize difficult targets in a compact format, while antibodies add specificity, long half‐life, and effector functions. This review examines strategies that merge both modalities—peptide grafting into loops, terminal and Fc fusions, and bioconjugation—highlighting how ...
