Finite and infinite time horizon for BSDE with Poisson jumps [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
This paper is devoted to solving a real valued backward stochastic differential equation with jumps where the time horizon may be finite or infinite. Under linear growth generator, we prove existence of a minimal solution. Using a comparison theorem we show existence and uniqueness of solution to such equations when the generator is uniformly ...

High-Resolution Satellite Imagery for Modeling the Impact of Aridification on Crop Production [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
The availability of well-curated datasets has driven the success of Machine Learning (ML) models. Despite the increased access to earth observation data for agriculture, there is a scarcity of curated, labelled datasets, which limits the potential of its use in training ML models for remote sensing (RS) in agriculture. To this end, we introduce a first-

Reintroduction of rare arable plants by seed transfer. What are the optimal sowing rates?

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, 2016
During the past decades, agro‐biodiversity has markedly declined and some species are close to extinction in large parts of Europe. Reintroduction of rare arable plant species in suitable habitats could counteract this negative trend.

Boron deficiency responses in maize (Zea mays L.) roots

open access: yesJournal of Plant Nutrition and Soil Science, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract Background Boron (B) is an essential micronutrient for plants. Dicot plants respond to insufficient B supply by altering root architecture and root hair growth. How root systems of rather low‐B demanding monocot species such as maize (Zea mays L.) respond to B deficiency in terra has not been experimentally resolved, yet.

Conditional analysis for mixed covariates, with application to feed intake of lactating sows [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
We propose a novel modeling framework to study the effect of covariates of various types on the conditional distribution of the response. The methodology accommodates flexible model structure, allows for joint estimation of the quantiles at all levels, and involves a computationally efficient estimation algorithm.

The Effect of the Polytropic Index γ on the Structure of Gaseous Detonations [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
The present study aims to clarify the effect of the polytropic index (i.e., the ratio of specific heats in the context of a perfect gas) on the detonation structure. This is addressed by two-dimensional numerical simulations. To ease the clarification of the role of gasdynamics, a simple Arrhenius kinetic law is used for the chemical model.

Response of Spring Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) Quality Traits and Yield to Sowing Date

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
The unpredictability and large fluctuation of the climatic conditions in rainfed regions do affect spring wheat yield and grain quality. These variations offer the opportunity for the production of better quality wheat.

Noncommutative Gröbner bases over rings [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
In this work, it is proposed a method for computing Noncommutative Gr\"obner bases over a valuation n{\oe}therian ring. We have generalized the fundamental theorem on normal forms over an arbitrary ring. The classical method of dynamical commutative Gr\"obner bases is generalized for Buchberger's algorithm over $R=\mathcal{V}$ a free ...
