Universal rotated space time block codes

2005 IEEE International Conference on Personal Wireless Communications, 2005. ICPWC 2005., 2005
In this paper, we give a family of orthogonal space time block codes (STBC), which is so called universal rotated STBC. The constructed codes include all existing STBC cases, and give several extended results suitable for different modulations, such as MPSK or M-QAM.

Nonlinear hierarchical space-time block codes

GLOBECOM '03. IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37489), 2004
Recent designs for space-time block codes (STBCs) have exploited the structure of the codes (unitary, orthogonal) to enable systematic construction. Code sets found by an exhaustive search to optimize cost functions can often achieve performance gains of several dB; however, such searches are not feasible for large block or constellation sizes.

Shift-orthogonal space-time block codes

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 2010
In this paper, we present a new class of spacetime block code, called shift-orthogonal space-time block codes (SOSTBC), which can maintain orthogonality (hence symbolwise linear decoding) in asynchronous wireless relay networks, under both amplify-and-forward (AF) and decode-and-forward (DF) relaying schemes.

Noncoherent distributed space~time block coding

VTC-2005-Fall. 2005 IEEE 62nd Vehicular Technology Conference, 2005., 2006
It is well-known that node cooperation can yield sig- nificant performance gains in wireless networks. However, it is not known ap rioriwhich nodes are able to cooperate in many practical cases. In this paper, we address the problem of nonco- herent distributed space-time block code (DSTBC) designed for this scenario.

Patched Distributed Space-Time Block Codes

2010 IEEE International Conference on Communications, 2010
In this paper, we propose Patched Distributed Space-Time Block Codes (DSTBC) for the Dynamic Decode and Forward (DDF) Relaying protocol, in which the relay transmits combination of information from the first and second phase of the DDF protocol, and the destination makes a linear combination of symbols received in the two phases.

Differential distributed space-time block coding

PACRIM. 2005 IEEE Pacific Rim Conference on Communications, Computers and signal Processing, 2005., 2005
In this paper, differential distributed space-time block codes (DSIBCs) are introduced. These differential DSTBCs are designed for wireless networks which have a large set of nodes N but at any given time only a small, a priori unknown subset of nodes S /spl sub/ N can be active. Channel state information is not required at the cooperating nodes nor at

Block Layered Space-Time Code Design

Fourth IEEE Workshop on Sensor Array and Multichannel Processing, 2006., 2006
The block layered space-time codes, with the intent of simultaneously achieving high coding gain and high code rate, have been suggested. These codes are based on the design mechanisms of existing layered space-time codes and space-time block codes. The previously known concept of a layer has been modified to a block layer wherein a block layer has ...

Linear toeplitz space time block codes

Proceedings. International Symposium on Information Theory, 2005. ISIT 2005., 2005
In this paper we consider coherent flat fading wireless communication systems with multiple transmitter antennas and single receiver antenna (MISO). We propose a Toeplitz linear space time block code (STBC) that converts an original MISO flat fading channel into a Toeplitz virtual multiple inputs multiple outputs (MIMO) channel.

Multilevel concatenated space-time block codes

2010 International Conference on System Science and Engineering, 2010
An alternative design for constructing multilevel space-time codes is proposed. For a given space-time block code, we combine several component codes in conjunction with set partitioning of the expanded signal constellation according to the coding gain distance criterion.
