Space-time block codes versus space-time trellis codes
ICC 2001. IEEE International Conference on Communications. Conference Record (Cat. No.01CH37240), 2002Two outstanding examples of transmit diversity schemes for the multiple-antenna flat-fading channel are space-time block coding (STBC) and space-time trellis coding (STTC). We compare the performance of STBC and STTC in terms of the frame error rate keeping the transmit power, spectral efficiency and number of trellis states fixed.

Diagonal algebraic space-time block codes
IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2002Summary: We construct a new family of linear space-time (ST) block codes by the combination of rotated constellations and the Hadamard transform, and we prove them to achieve the full transmit diversity over a quasi-static or fast fading channel. The proposed codes transmit at a normalized rate of 1 symbol/\(s\).

Semiorthogonal Space–Time Block Codes
IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2010In this paper, a new class of full-diversity, rate-one space-time block codes (STBCs) called semiorthogonal algebraic space-time block codes (SAST codes) is proposed. SAST codes are delay optimal when the number of transmit antennas is even. The SAST codeword matrix has a generalized Alamouti structure where the transmitted symbols are replaced by ...

Distributed space-time block coding
GLOBECOM '05. IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2005., 2005In this paper, a new class of distributed space-time block codes (DSTBCs) is introduced. These DSTBCs are designed for wireless networks which have a large set of single-antenna relay nodes Nscr, but at any given time only a small, a priori unknown subset of nodes SsubeNscr can be active.

Differential space-time block codes
GLOBECOM'01. IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference (Cat. No.01CH37270), 2002We propose a new differential modulation scheme for multiple-antenna systems based on square space-time block codes (STBC) when neither the transmitter nor the receiver knows channel state information. Compared with the known differential unitary space-time modulation (DUSTM), the proposed constellations generally have multiple amplitudes and do not ...

Space-time block codes for noncoherent CPFSK
GLOBECOM '05. IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2005., 2005In this paper the problem of unitary rate space-time block coding for multiple-input multiple-output communication systems employing continuous phase frequency shift keying is investigated. First, one-shot noncoherent detection is analysed in a maximum likelihood perspective; then, design criteria for optimal space-time codes are proposed and some ...

High-Rate Space-Time Block Coding Schemes
IEICE Transactions on Fundamentals of Electronics, Communications and Computer Sciences, 2008A rate-6/4 full-diversity orthogonal space-time block code (STBC) is constructed for QPSK and 2 transmit antennas by applying constellation scaling and rotation to the set of quaternions used in Alamouti code. Also given is a rate-9/8 full-diversity quasi-orthogonal space-time block code (QOSTBC) for 4 transmit antennas.
