Performance of space-time block coding and space-time trellis coding for impulse radio

IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2004. GLOBECOM '04., 2005
Ultra wideband (UWB) systems have attracted a lot of research interest lately, owing to their appealing features in short-range mobile communications. These features include low power peer-to-peer transmissions, multiple access communications, high data rates, and precise positioning capabilities.

Space–time trellis codes for MSK

Computers & Electrical Engineering, 2005
This paper presents four-state and eight-state space-time minimum shift keying (MSK) trellis codes with full-rate and full-diversity. Codes with two and three transmit antennas are proposed for small and large diversity orders and simulated on a quasi-static Rayleigh fading channel when the numbers of received antennas are one and four.

A GRASP for unitary space-time codes

GLOBECOM '05. IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2005., 2005
Unitary space-time codes perform well at high signal-to-noise ratios on MIMO channels even when the propagation coefficients between transmitter and receiver are unknown. One method of constructing unitary space-time constellations uses a random search to find signal constellations that minimize the maximum pairwise correlation between transmitted ...

Spherical space-time codes (SSTC)

IEEE Communications Letters, 2001
We present the extension of the trellis space-time code (STC) concept to include signal mapping drawn from an N-dimensional sphere. The signal points were designed as such to increase the minimum squared distance between points in the constellation without increasing the average transmit energy. The mapping of the N-dimensional spherical constellations

Space–Time Coding

2015
In MIMO systems, diversity can be achieved by repetition coding, in which different antennas at the transmitter transmit the same information at different time slots. The space–time (ST) coding is more bandwidth-efficient coding scheme, which transmits an information symbol block in a different order from each antenna.

Exploiting the structure of space-time codes

Proceedings ISCC 2002 Seventh International Symposium on Computers and Communications, 2003
We describe key receiver signal processing algorithms for space-time-coded transmissions over broadband wireless channels. These include channel estimation, equalization, and interference cancellation. Our main theme is exploiting the rich structure of space-time codes to enhance the performance and reduce the complexity of receiver signal processing ...
