An adaptive iterative receiver for space-time coding MIMO systems

open access: yesJournal of Telecommunications and Information Technology, 2006
An adaptive iterative receiver for layered space-time coded (LSTC) systems is proposed. The proposed receiver, based on a joint adaptive iterative detection and decoding algorithm, adaptively suppresses and cancels co-channel interference.

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

A Space–Time Coding Array Sidelobe Optimization Method Combining Array Element Spatial Coding and Mismatched Filtering

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Digital array radar (DAR) can fully realize digitalization at both the transmitting and receiving ends. However, the development of freedom at the transmitting end is far from mature.

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

An Enumeration of the Equivalence Classes of Self-Dual Matrix Codes

open access: yes, 2015
As a result of their applications in network coding, space-time coding, and coding for criss-cross errors, matrix codes have garnered significant attention; in various contexts, these codes have also been termed rank-metric codes, space-time codes over ...

Space-time error correcting codes

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2008
A new space-time block code family for two transmitters, called the space-time error correcting codes (STECCs), is presented. As it is built from any linear forward error correcting code (FEC), a STECC is able to correct errors while achieving high spectral efficiencies.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

STiCMAC: A MAC Protocol for Robust Space-Time Coding in Cooperative Wireless LANs

open access: yes, 2011
Relay-assisted cooperative wireless communication has been shown to have significant performance gains over the legacy direct transmission scheme. Compared with single relay based cooperation schemes, utilizing multiple relays further improves the ...

Chameleon sequences reveal structural effects in proteins representing micelle‐like distribution of hydrophobicity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status

Opportunistic Interference Alignment in Cognitive Radio Networks with Space–Time Coding

open access: yesJournal of Sensor and Actuator Networks
For a multiuser multiple-input–multiple-output (MIMO) overlay cognitive radio (CR) network, an opportunistic interference alignment (IA) technique has been proposed that allows spectrum sharing between primary users (PUs) and secondary users (SUs) while ...
