Space Charge Polarisation

1976
Space charge polarisation is first defined and those aspects of it which will and will not be considered at length are distinguished. Basic equations of charge motion in solids and liquids are discussed for the situation where a single mobility is an adequate approximation for each mobile species.

Space Charge Effects

1977
Separation of charge into double layers is a common occurrence at a solid surface. At times the phenomenon can be interpreted simply in terms of two plane sheets of charge. On a metal with an adsorbed layer of oxygen, where the oxygen has a large negative partial charge and the surface layer of the metal an equal and opposite positive charge, the ...

Space charge neutralization

AIP Conference Proceedings, 1990
We examine the feasibility of creating an electric space‐charge field of order 109 V/m using radial and axial focussing on a pulsed beam of 200 MeV H− ions. When a bunch of H− ions is focussed into a disc‐shaped concentration, the electric field is uniform and the electrons are shed abruptly, leaving a neutral beam of H0. Subsequent stripping of the H0

The space charge smoothing factor

Journal of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, 1951
The author has recently expressed the properties of a planar diode in terms of a set of differential coefficients, many of which can be experimentally determined. In the present paper these differential coefficients are used to derive a relation between the anode-current fluctuations and the fluctuation in the total emission. The fluctuation in the ...
