A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Holographic complexity of the extended Schwarzschild-de Sitter space

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
According to static patch holography, de Sitter space admits a unitary quantum description in terms of a dual theory living on the stretched horizon, that is a timelike surface close to the cosmological horizon.

Gaussian normal basis multiplier over GF(2m) using hybrid subquadratic‐and‐quadratic TMVP approach for elliptic curve cryptography

open access: yesIET Circuits, Devices and Systems, 2017
In recent years, subquadratric‐and‐quadratric Toeplitz matrix–vector product (TMVP) computations are widely used for the implementation of binary field multiplication in elliptic curve cryptography.

Is action complexity better for de Sitter space in Jackiw-Teitelboim gravity?

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
Volume complexity in dS2 remains O(1) up to a critical time, after which it suddenly diverges. On the other hand, for the dS2 solution in JT gravity, there is a linear dilaton which smoothly grows towards the future infinity.

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

Cis‐regulatory and long noncoding RNA alterations in breast cancer – current insights, biomarker utility, and the critical need for functional validation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The noncoding region of the genome plays a key role in regulating gene expression, and mutations within these regions are capable of altering it. Researchers have identified multiple functional noncoding mutations associated with increased cancer risk in the genome of breast cancer patients.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.
