Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

Study on smoke flow characteristics in immersed tunnel fires with lateral centralized exhaust: Considering the effect of the slope

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering, 2023
In the case of fires in inclined immersed tunnels, smoke flow patterns differ from those of horizontal tunnels, and require a unique approach to lateral centralized smoke exhaust.

What Do Large Language Models Know About Materials?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
If large language models (LLMs) are to be used inside the material discovery and engineering process, they must be benchmarked for the accurateness of intrinsic material knowledge. The current work introduces 1) a reasoning process through the processing–structure–property–performance chain and 2) a tool for benchmarking knowledge of LLMs concerning ...

Effects of diameter and suction pipe opening position on excavation and suction rescue vehicle for gas-liquid two-phase position

open access: yesEngineering Applications of Computational Fluid Mechanics, 2020
The speed of an excavation and suction rescue vehicle (ESRV) can be adjusted by adjusting the opening position/diameter of the vertical suction component in the gas-liquid flow field within the pipe.
