Space Physics: Waves in space plasmas

Physics Bulletin, 1984
The Space Shuttle orbits the earth within the ionosphere, providing an excellent laboratory for studying the ionosphere–magnetosphere plasma system which surrounds the earth. In the waves in space plasmas (WISP) project active experiments will be carried out by launching electromagnetic and electrostatic waves into the plasma in a controlled manner.

Waves in Space Plasmas

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2009
Applications of linear mode conversion at Alfven/ion‐ion hybrid resonances and at electron plasma frequency have been discussed. Alfven resonances play an important role on energy transport the outer to inner regions of magnetospheres. At Earth’s magnetopause, the mode‐converted kinetic Alfven waves also lead to solar wind particle entry and transverse

Earth Space Plasma Physics

Physics Bulletin, 1988
A milestone in space research was reached in the early summer of 1985 when earth space plasma physicists and solar physicists came together at the European Space Agency (ESA) workshop on future missions in solar, heliospheric and space physics, held at Garmisch-Partenkirchen in West Germany.
