Testing General Relativity with Low-Frequency, Space-Based Gravitational-Wave Detectors

open access: yesLiving Reviews in Relativity, 2013
We review the tests of general relativity that will become possible with space-based gravitational-wave detectors operating in the ∼ 10^{-5} – 1 Hz low-frequency band.

Probing a regular non-minimal Einstein-Yang-Mills black hole with gravitational lensings

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2019
We investigate weak and strong deflection gravitational lensings of the regular black hole predicted by a non-minimal Einstein–Yang–Mills theory. We find that its weak deflection lensing is the same as a Reissner–Nordström black hole's.

Low-energy particle experiments–electron analyzer (LEPe) onboard the Arase spacecraft

open access: yesEarth, Planets and Space, 2017
In this report, we describe the low-energy electron instrument LEPe (low-energy particle experiments–electron analyzer) onboard the Arase (ERG) spacecraft. The instrument measures a three-dimensional distribution function of electrons with energies of $$\

Evolution of the Toroidal Flux of CME Flux Ropes during Eruption

open access: yesThe Innovation, 2020
Summary: Coronal mass ejections (CMEs) are large-scale explosions of the coronal magnetic field. It is believed that magnetic reconnection significantly builds up the core structure of CMEs, a magnetic flux rope, during the eruption.

Astronomy in Chile: Assessment of scientific productivity through a bibliometric analysis

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
The skies of Northern Chile are considered among the best in the world for astronomy due to their geographical, climatic and atmospheric conditions. In fact, during the last several decades, a great number of astronomical observatories have been built by

Space-based research in fundamental physics and quantum technologies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Space-based experiments today can uniquely address important questions related to the fundamental laws of Nature. In particular, high-accuracy physics experiments in space can test relativistic gravity and probe the physics beyond the Standard Model ...

Scalar perturbations in f(T) gravity using the $$1 + 3$$ 1+3 covariant approach

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2020
The cosmological scalar perturbations of standard matter are investigated in the context of extended teleparallel f(T) gravity theories using the $$1+3$$ 1+3 covariant formalism.

Using gamma regression for photometric redshifts of survey galaxies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Machine learning techniques offer a plethora of opportunities in tackling big data within the astronomical community. We present the set of Generalized Linear Models as a fast alternative for determining photometric redshifts of galaxies, a set of tools ...
