The symmetry‐driven coexistence of altermagnetism and (anti)ferroelectricity in perovskites shows a strong dimensional dependence. Upon reducing the system from bulk to the two‐dimensional limit, only C‐type antiferromagnetic order retains ferroelectrically switchable altermagnetism, whereas A‐ and G‐type orders become conventional antiferromagnets ...

Inspired by natural amino acid polymer‐melanin systems, this study strategically incorporated tellurocysteine to develop advanced radiation‐shielding materials. This approach transformed the primary interaction mechanism between melanin‐based materials and incident photons from Compton scattering to the photoelectric effect. Tellurocysteine‐polymerized

Thermal clustering of solid ethane with potential relevance to Charon’s Mordor region
The methane condensed in Charon’s winter hemisphere undergoes photolysis by interplanetary medium Lyman-α photons, which yields solid ethane as the dominant photoproduct.

Chiral‐Encoded Pt‐Ir Surfaces as Apparent Spin Filter for Enhanced Oxygen Reduction
The Chiral‐Induced Spin Selectivity (CISS) effect is employed in chiral‐encoded mesoporous Platinum‐Iridium (Pt‐Ir) electrocatalysts to enhance the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). A break in spin symmetry leads to a substantial antagonistic difference in activity (>200%) when comparing two enantiomorphs of the same electrode.

In this study, an electrostatically self‐assembled WPU‐MXene@FC flexible fabric constructs a “nest‐like” structure on fibers, building construct MXene multiple loss paths, achieving ultra‐wideband absorption of 25.3–1200 GHz in a thickness of 1.8 mm, while also exhibiting superhydrophobicity, acid and alkali resistance, and bending resistance ...

TeV gamma-ray emission from accreting binary pulsars [PDF]
The high-mass X-ray binary SMC X-1 has been observed during the interval 1986-1989 at a threshold γ-ray energy of 0.4 TeV using the University of Durham Mark III air Cerenkov telescope at Narrabri.
