The influence of wildlife images on conservation intentions: Investigating the mediating role of emotion

open access: yesPeople and Nature, EarlyView.
Abstract Human actions can not only contribute to species extinction but also offer a path towards preventing it. Therefore, it is essential for conservation communicators to identify optimal communication methods to encourage positive pro‐conservation behaviours.

Digitising biological collections to advance National Species Inventories: A case study from the flora of Chile

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
In response to Chile's public policy to establish a national biodiversity inventory and monitoring system, we launched the HerbarioDigital.cl portal. We have digitised over 120,000 specimens representing more than 3,900 species from two Chilean herbaria, integrating them through a curated local taxonomic index.

Analyzing the Impact of Spatial Configuration and Function on Movement Patterns of First-Time Visitors to Historic Urban Areas: A Case Study of Iznik

open access: yesSAGE Open
The space syntax approach has been widely used to investigate the impact of spatial configuration on land use and pedestrian movement patterns. Previous research shows that streets with high accessibility are decisive in the location of common functions ...

Space Syntax

open access: yes, 2018
Configurational analysis represented by the method of space syntax allows the modelling of a city that links intuition and science, and it can be used for designing and planning cities, as well as in research (Hillier 2009). Developed by Bill Hillier and his colleagues at the University College London, it has been applied in urban studies since the ...

Environmental, Social and Governance Strategies for Sustainable Development Goal 3: Enhancing Health and Social Wellbeing

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The discourse on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategies is growing, yet its ability to meaningfully advance health and social wellbeing (H&SW) in line with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 3) remains under‐examined. Existing studies assume that ESG automatically strengthens SDG 3 outcomes, yet how the Governance

Stitching together the fabric of space and society: an investigation into the linkage of the local to regional continuum [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
To date, space syntax models have focused typically on relatively small areas up to the city scale. There have been very few models that take into account the entire network up to the regional scale, so the cumulative effects of micro-scale connections

A Justified Plan Graph Analysis of a Typical Apartment in China: Focusing on Interior Traffic Spaces and a Binary Filtration System for Neural Network

open access: yesBuildings
In the situation of shifting urban residential needs in China, existing studies overlook both interior space redesign of ordinary apartments and the integration methodology of space syntax and artificial intelligence in this domain.
