Multi-vector SVM: a new approach to space vector modulation control for six-phase induction machines

open access: closed31st Annual Conference of IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2005. IECON 2005., 2005
In this paper, a new space vector modulation (SVM) technique for six-phase induction machines (SPIM) is presented. The machine has two three phase stator windings spatially shifted by 60 electrical degrees and connected to a single neutral. The neutral point may be connected to the source or not.

DSP based direct torque control of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) using space vector modulation (DTC-SVM)

open access: closedIndustrial Electronics, 2002. ISIE 2002. Proceedings of the 2002 IEEE International Symposium on, 2002
This paper presents digital signal processor (DSP) based direct torque control scheme using space vector modulation (DTC-SVM) for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drives. The analysis of PMSM shows that the increase of electromagnetic torque is proportional to the increase of the angle between the stator and rotor flux linkages and therefore ...

Implementation of Space Vector Modulation (SVM) for Modular Multilevel Converter Based on Submodule Regroup

open access: closed2018 IEEE International Power Electronics and Application Conference and Exposition (PEAC), 2018
Modular multilevel converters (MMC) can be used in many applications such as medium voltage multimegawatt drives and HVDC power transmission. Modulation strategy plays an important role for the good performance of MMC. In this paper, a submodule (SM) regrouping method of MMC is presented and based on this, a sampling time staggered space vector pulse ...

Flux Control with Space Vector Modulation (FC-SVM)

open access: closedEUROCON 2007 - The International Conference on "Computer as a Tool", 2007
In this paper a simple method for electric motor control is presented -Flux Control with Space Vector Modulation (FC-SVM). The FC-SVM can be applied both for induction and synchronous machine (similar to Direct Torque Control with Space Vector Modulation DTC-SVM). This method is based on error between reference and actual stator flux vector modulation.

FPGA Implementation of Modified Space Vector Modulation (SVM) for High-Frequency Hybrid Active Neutral-Point-Clamped (NPC) Power Factor Correction Rectifier

open access: closed2020 22nd European Conference on Power Electronics and Applications (EPE'20 ECCE Europe), 2020
This paper presents a model-based implementation of modified space vector modulation (SVM) for a three-level three-phase active neutral-point clamped (ANPC) rectifier. To optimize and reduce the number of high frequency active switches, this paper uses a hybrid modulation technique in which only two switches out of 6 active switches are switching at ...

A combined model predictive control/space vector modulation (MPC-SVM) strategy for direct torque and flux control of induction motors

open access: closedIECON 2011 - 37th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2011
This work presents a new Direct Torque and Flux Control (DTFC) method for induction motors using a novel form of Model Predictive Control (MPC). This MPC strategy is novel from the point of view of the power supply (a three phase inverter) since, instead of using a single voltage vector as the control action during a complete sampling period of the ...

Direct torque control of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) using space vector modulation (DTC-SVM)-simulation and experimental results

open access: closedIEEE 2002 28th Annual Conference of the Industrial Electronics Society. IECON 02, 2003

A soft-commutation Space Vector Modulation (SVM) for current source converter with full-range power factor

open access: closedIECON 2016 - 42nd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2016
A current soft-commutation Space Vector Modulation (SVM) scheme for three-phase current source converter (CSC) is proposed in this paper. With the presented SVM, the incoming switch has a positive collector-to-emitter voltage while the outgoing switch has a negative collector-to-emitter voltage during current commutations.

Performance evaluation of two level unidirectional PWM rectifiers employing space vector modulation (SVM) technique

open access: closed2011 INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON RECENT ADVANCEMENTS IN ELECTRICAL, ELECTRONICS AND CONTROL ENGINEERING, 2011
Performance evaluation of two levels unidirectional PWM rectifiers employing space vector modulation will be discussed in this proposed work. A methodology for the use of this modulation is proposed and applied in different group of rectifier. For each group of rectifier the converter switching techniques are analyzed to determine switch control ...

A New Space Vector Modulation Technique for Reducing Switching Losses in Induction Motor DTC-SVM Scheme

open access: closed2019 10th International Power Electronics, Drive Systems and Technologies Conference (PEDSTC), 2019
Direct torque control (DTC) scheme is one of the most appropriate methods to control of AC machines. This method has positive features such as fast response, simple structure and low dependence on motor parameters. However, the main problems in classic DTC method are variation of switching frequency and high ripple of flux and torque.
