Sector determination for SVPWM based four‐switch three‐phase VSI

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2017
Sector determination for a normalised space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) scheme is proposed for four‐switch three‐phase (FSTP) voltage source inverter (VSI) by using already available stationary reference frame stator voltages without requiring ...

Offline Pulse Distribution Strategies for SWISS Rectifier Using Improved PDM at High Switching Frequencies

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This paper proposes an improved offline pulse density modulation strategy for the SWISS rectifier to achieve low input current distortion and high power factor at high switching frequencies. Experimental results at 38.4 kHz reduce THDi from over 30% to ≈10%, while high‐frequency simulations at 172.8 kHz achieve THDi of 3.3% and PF = 0.9954.

Common mode voltage elimination in dual-inverter-fed six-phase open-end winding PMSM drives with a single DC supply

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
This paper proposes a space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) technique to eliminate common mode voltage (CMV) and common mode current for dual-inverter six-phase open-end winding PMSM motor drive fed from a single DC supply.

Gradient Descent‐Based Model Predictive Current Controller for Dual Three‐Phase PMSMs

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This paper presents a gradient descent‐based model predictive current controller (TVV‐GD‐MBPCC) for dual three‐phase PMSMs, where the optimal duty cycle and switching state are obtained by minimizing a cost function. Both the proposed and existing controllers are implemented on a TMS320F28379D microcontroller for fair comparison.

Low cost digital signal generation for driving space vector PWM inverter

open access: yesAin Shams Engineering Journal, 2013
There is an increasing trend of using space vector pulse-width modulation (SVPWM) schemes for driving voltage source inverters because of their easier digital realization and better DC bus utilization.

Robust Deadbeat Predictive Current Control of IPMSM Under Position Sensor‐Less Occasions With Carrier Harmonics Injection

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This paper proposes a robust deadbeat predictive current control method for sensorless IPMSM drives. The method exploits switching‐frequency carrier harmonics to simultaneously estimate motor parameters and rotor position, thereby resolving the rank deficiency issue of model‐based approaches.

Comparative Analysis of SVM Techniques for a Five-Phase VSI Based on SiC Devices

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
Multiphase systems provides benefits compared to three-phase systems, such as improved torque per ampere, high power density, better fault tolerance, lower current per phase (due to power-splitting among a higher number of phases), and lower torque ...

Fault‐Tolerant Control of NPC Three‐Level PWM Rectifier Under Switch Open‐Circuit Faults

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
To address the high fault risk of NPC three‐level PWM rectifiers, this paper proposes a comprehensive strategy integrating a fast, accurate fault diagnosis method based on current path analysis and a classified fault‐tolerant control approach. Faults are categorised into three types, with Type I and II handled by voltage space vector redundancy and ...

Four-level SVPWM Strategy of Dual Three-phase Open-winding PMSM Drive

open access: yesCES Transactions on Electrical Machines and Systems
To achieve high power rating and low current harmonics of motor drive, this paper develops a dual three-phase open-winding permanent magnet synchronous motor (DTP-OW-PMSM) drive with the DC-link voltage ratio of 2:1:1.
