On spacecraft attitude display
SIMULATION, 1987A calculation minimised procedure for the graphics display of spacecraft attitude changes is presented. Based on the attitude errors, the body orientations with respect to two fundamental reference frames are computed and plotted using multiple view ports.

This paper gives an overview of electrostatic charging which occurs on spacecraft in different plasma environments. Particular emphasis is given to differential charging between sunlit and shadowed insulated surfaces, a phenomenon which is often observed in the geostationary orbit.

Electronically Steerable Antennas for Spacecraft-to-Spacecraft Communications
Navigation, 1965This paper presents several electronically steerable antenna techniques, which for frequencies from 1 to 35 gc, show promise for application to spacecraft-to-spacecraft communications. It is indicated that such antennas can be realistically designed to provide maximum antenna gain for given weight, maximum bandwidth, and the capability of illuminating ...

Spacecraft design considerations for spacecraft charging environments
2017 Asia-Pacific International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility (APEMC), 2017Spacecraft charging (surface and internal) is complex physical phenomena that can have serious ramifications on mission success. The degree of spacecraft charging a spacecraft may experience is heavily dependent on both the surrounding space environment and spacecraft geometry (more specifically, the geometry and material makeup of the spacecraft).

Radiation Research, 1997
The health effects of long-term exposure to ionizing radiation during spaceflight are a major concern to NASA, especially for missions beyond low-Earth orbit. Experiments involving astronauts will be conducted during the next few years to improve the risk assessment for exposures to ionizing radiation during flights; however, concomitant exposure to ...

Programing the trajectories of a spacecraft
Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics, 1970Abstract The controlled motion of a spacecraft in a central gravitational field along a spatial trajectory with fixed ends is considered. The variable parameters of the trajectories of motion of the craft are approximated by polynomials in powers of the time whose coefficients are determined from the boundary conditions.

Dynamics of Spacecraft and Manipulators
SIMULATION, 1991The status and some recent developments of dynamic analysis and simulation of spacecraft and manipulators are summa rized. Discussion focuses on a number of aspects: common methods for the rigid body analyses of spacecraft and manipulations; how one of these methods could be extended to include constrained systems and flexible bodies; the trend in ...
