AdS spacetime in warped spacetimes [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2000
We obtain a large class of AdS spacetimes warped with certain internal spaces in 11-dimensional and type IIA or IIB supergravities. The warp factors depend only on the internal coordinates. These solutions arise as the near-horizon geometries of more general semilocalized multi-intersections of p-branes.

Limits on the number of spacetime dimensions from GW170817 [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics, 2018
The observation of GW170817 in both gravitational and electromagnetic waves provides a number of unique tests of general relativity. One question we can answer with this event is: do large-wavelength gravitational waves and short-frequency photons ...

Why a Gunk World is Compatible with Nihilism about Objects

open access: yesStudia Philosophica Estonica, 2015
Ted Sider argues that nihilism about objects is incompatible with the metaphysical possibility of gunk and takes this point to show that nihilism is flawed. I shall describe one kind of nihilism able to answer this objection.

A Novel Spacetime Boundary-Type Meshless Method for Estimating Aquifer Hydraulic Properties Using Pumping Tests

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
This article introduces a new boundary-type meshless method designed for solving axisymmetric transient groundwater flow problems, specifically for aquifer tests and estimating hydraulic properties.

Killing and 2-Killing Vector Fields on Doubly Warped Products

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
We provide a condition for a 2-Killing vector field on a compact Riemannian manifold to be Killing and apply the result to doubly warped product manifolds.

On the Dynamics of Euclidean Space–Time at the Planck Scale

open access: yesReports in Advances of Physical Sciences, 2022
In this study, a radical hypothesis concerning the wave-particle duality exhibited by extremely small objects in nature is explored by developing a Planck lattice model of space–time that grapples with the uncertain dynamic quantum structure of space ...

Emergent spacetime

open access: yes, 2012
We give an introductory account of the AdS/CFT correspondence in the 1/2-BPS sector of ${\cal N}=4$ super Yang-Mills theory.Six of the dimensions of the string theory are emergent in the Yang-Mills theory. In this article we suggest how these dimensions and local physics in these dimensions emerge. The discussion is aimed at non-experts.

Quantum-Spacetime Phenomenology [PDF]

open access: yesLiving Reviews in Relativity, 2013
I review the current status of phenomenological programs inspired by quantum-spacetime research. I stress in particular the significance of results establishing that certain data analyses provide sensitivity to effects introduced genuinely at the Planck scale. And my main focus is on phenomenological programs that managed to affect the directions taken

Research on construction operation coupling network in coal mine roof accidents based on spacetime

open access: yesMeikuang Anquan, 2023
In order to study the temporal and spatial occurrence law of coal mine roof accidents in construction operation and the interaction degree of construction operation in the spacetime, 171 roof accident investigation reports have been coded and analyzed to
