Genome-wide cross-trait analysis of heterogeneous outcomes in early life atopic dermatitis. [PDF]

open access: yesPediatr Allergy Immunol
Abstract Background Pediatric atopic dermatitis exhibits substantial heterogeneity in presentation, course, and long‐term outcomes resulting in distinct phenotypes. Yet, genetic studies of atopic dermatitis have focused on a single trait or outcome and thus may not fully reveal underlying genetic relationships.

Limb-girdle muscular dystrophies: A scoping review and overview of currently available rehabilitation strategies. [PDF]

open access: yesMuscle Nerve
Abstract Limb‐girdle muscular dystrophies (LGMDs) constitute a diverse group of inherited disorders primarily affecting skeletal muscle. Despite the absence of cures, rehabilitative treatments offer potential for preventing and mitigating loss of muscle strength. However, the role of exercise training in LGMD patients remains contentious.

Codamozza-Fluker: The Compelling Case of a Flukeless Fin Whale Traveling Throughout the Mediterranean Sea and the Need for Basin-Wide Conservation Efforts. [PDF]

open access: yesEcol Evol
The authors report the first case of a live fin whale in the Mediterranean Sea with completely amputated flukes, a female which suffered two separated incidents with entanglement and collision both being hypothesized as causes. Sightings after the complete loss of her flukes enabled tracking her movements from September 2019 to July 2020, prior to her ...

Measuring the Subjective Signal Strength: Validating Persian Vividness of Visual Mental Imagery Questionnaire-2. [PDF]

open access: yesBrain Behav
We validated the Persian Vividness of Visual Mental Imagery Questionnaire‐2 (VVIQ‐Pr2) in 630 participants, demonstrating its reliability, unidimensional structure, and convergent validity. The VVIQ‐Pr2 provides a robust measure of subjective imagery vividness, supporting cross‐cultural research and theories of perceptual reality monitoring.

Temporal relationships between Staphylococcus aureus colonization, filaggrin expression, and pediatric atopic dermatitis. [PDF]

open access: yesAllergy
We assessed S. aureus skin colonization and AD outcomes across two annual visits in the MPAACH cohort. Persistent S. aureus colonization is characterized by increased severity, allergic sensitization, and decreasing non‐lesional filaggrin expression. Low non‐lesional filaggrin expression positively mediates future S. aureus colonization.

Model atmosphere analysis of the extreme DQ white dwarf GSC2U J131147.2+292348 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
A new model atmosphere analysis for the peculiar DQ white dwarf discovered by Carollo et al. (2002) is presented. The effective temperature and carbon abundance have been estimated by fitting both the photometric data (UBJ,VRF,IN,JHK) and a low ...

El Libro di ricercate a qvattro voci (1575) de Rocco Rodio y algunas consideraciones sobre relaciones entre Nápoles y España en el siglo XVI

The radial metallicity gradients in the Milky Way thick disk as fossil signatures of a primordial chemical distribution [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In this letter we examine the evolution of the radial metallicity gradient induced by secular processes, in the disk of an $N$-body Milky Way-like galaxy. We assign a [Fe/H] value to each particle of the simulation according to an initial, cosmologically

Kinematic Structure in the Galactic Halo at the North Galactic Pole: RR Lyrae and BHB Stars show different kinematics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Space motions are given for 38 RR Lyrae (RRL) stars and 79 blue horizontal branch (BHB) stars in a ~200 deg2 area around the North Galactic Pole (NGP) using a homogeneous distance scale consistent with (m-M)0=18.52 for the LMC. The kinematics of the 26

Sulla letteratura ammutinata, ovvero alcune considerazioni sulla narrativa argentina di fine Novecento

open access: yesPagine Inattuali, 2023
Between the 1960s and 1970s, one of the central problems of Argentine literature was answering the question of how to write after Borges, how to relate to the omnipresence of his model.
