Physicochemical properties and skin permeation of Span 60/Tween 60 niosomes of ellagic acid

International Journal of Pharmaceutics, 2012
Ellagic acid (EA) is a potent antioxidant phytochemical substance which has limitation to use due to its poor biopharmaceutical properties, low solubility and low permeability. The aim of the present study was to develop niosomal formulations obtained from the mixture of Span 60 and Tween 60 that could encapsulate EA for dermal delivery.

Study of Reverse Micellization of Span 60 in Toluene

Bulletin of the Chemical Society of Japan, 1994
Abstract Critical reverse micelle concentration (crmc) of Span 60 in toluene was determined by iodine solubilization method at 20, 25, 30, and 35 °C. The corresponding thermodynamic quantities of reverse micellization process were computed and are discussed.

Long-term toxicity study of sorbitan monostearate (Span 60) in mice

Food and Cosmetics Toxicology, 1978
Abstract Sorbitan monostearate (Span 60) was given to groups of 48 male and 48 female mice at dose levels of 0 (control), 0·5, 2·0 or 4·0% of the diet for 80 wk. There was no evidence of carcinogenic activity at any of these dose levels. The treatment had no adverse effects on the death rate or rate of body-weight gain.

Protein extraction using non-ionic reverse micelles of Span 60

Biochemical Engineering Journal, 1998
Abstract In protein extraction using non-ionic Span 60 reverse micelles, the critical micelle concentration (CMC) of a Span 60/IPA/hexane system was at Span 60 concentration of 3.5 g l −1 . At concentrations higher than the CMC, cytochrome c was extracted into the Span 60 reverse micelles as judged from UV spectra of the Span 60/IPA/hexane solution

Span 60 as a Microsphere Matrix: Preparation and in Vitro Characterization of Novel Ibuprofen‐Span 60 Microspheres

Journal of Surfactants and Detergents, 2016
AbstractMicrospheres are a potential delivery system for controlled and sustained drug release. Polymeric microspheres are commonly prepared by the solvent evaporation technique whereas waxy microspheres by the melt dispersion technique. The goal of this study was to prepare a surfactant (Span 60)—Ibuprofen microspheres using both techniques. Ibuprofen‐

Linkage map of eight human chromosome 11q markers, including DRD2, spanning 60 cM

Cytogenetic and Genome Research, 1992
We have constructed a linkage map of eight RFLP markers located on chromosome 11 q in the region of the dopamine D2 receptor gene (DRD2) recognized by probe hD2Gl. Abnormalities in dopaminergic neurotransmission mediated by this receptor have been implicated in several psychiatric disorders.

Effect of Ratio Span 60 - Cholesterol on the Characteristic of Niosomes Vitamin D3

Research Journal of Pharmacy and Technology, 2022
Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol) is a fat-soluble vitamin that is claimed to be an ingredient added to food and beverage products such as cheese and milk. However, due to its unstable nature, it causes vitamin D3 to be degraded in the product. Niosomes are a vesicle drug delivery system formed by nonionic surfactants and cholesterol that can protect both ...

Phenytoin repositioned in wound healing: clinical experience spanning 60 years

Drug Discovery Today, 2018
Drug repositioning is hot, and much development time and money can be spared if one selects an old drug and explores the efficacy and safety in a new indication. Phenytoin is studied and repositioned in many disorders after the initial indication epilepsy (from 1937). Its repositioning in depression was put in the spotlight by the Wall Street icon Jack

Combined photocontact dermatitis to benzydamine hydrochloride and the emulsifiers, Span 60 and Tween 60 contained in Tantum® cream

Contact Dermatitis, 2007
Benzydamine is an indazol compound with analgesic, anti-inflammatory and anaesthetic properties. Topical application includes cream or gel preparations as well as mouthwashes and vaginal irrigations. Either allergic contact dermatitis or photoallergic reactions to benzydamine have occasionally been described (1, 2).

The Seismic Dynamic Response on the Steel Spatial Arch Truss with 60 m Span and 0.4 Rise-Span Ratio

Advanced Materials Research, 2011
In this paper, the elasto-plastic dynamic analysis on the steel spatial arch truss with 60 m span and 0.4 rise-span ratio is carried out under earthquake wave with SAP2000. In the analyses, the geometric and material nonlinear effects are considered at the same time based on the plastic-hinge theory. Under the action of EL wave with the peak increasing
