Upcycling of Disposable Face Masks into Water‐Resistant and Flame Retardant Foams
Disposable mask waste is upcycled into lightweight polypropylene‐based foams with tunable porosity and composite architectures reinforced by ear‐loop fibers. The sustainable solvent‐based process enables upcycling rates of 91% and solvent recovery of >90%.

Advancing infrared display technology with carbon nanotube-embedded spandex fibers
We report on developing a wearable infrared (IR) display based on stretchable conductive fibers fabricated through an expansion–contraction process. The expansion process creates a gap between the strands of spandex fibers.

Survey of bloodstain pattern analysts regarding pattern classifications on assorted fabrics
Because bloodstain pattern analysis (BPA) on absorbent surfaces, such as fabrics, is far more complex than its application on hard, nonporous surfaces, pattern type may be interpreted differently between fabric substrates and by analysts with more or ...

Gli1+ adventitial stem cells (ASCs) have been thought to generate smooth muscle cells (SMCs) in atherosclerosis. Using a dual‐recombinase lineage tracing to exclude ectopic labeling, Wang et al. found that Gli1+ ASCs do not contribute to SMCs in atherosclerotic plaques.

Female desert locusts dig underground to lay their eggs. They displace soil, rather than removing it, to create a tunnel. We analyze burrowing dynamics and 3D kinematics and design a locust‐inspired hybrid soft–stiff robot that reproduces this mechanism. The results show the natural strategy minimizes energy, whereas alternative patterns raise costs up
