Turbocharged Spark Ignition Engine Simulation
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1984<div class="htmlview paragraph">A detailed simulation of a turbocharged spark-ignition engine is presented. The model is based on the “control volume” concept. Yet includes pressure wave action effects in manifold pipes. Each cylinder is considered as a thermodynamic control volume.

Combustion in Spark-ignition Engines
1990Later chapters in this book will discuss the origins of the fluid motions that occur within combustion chambers of spark-ignition engines, the fundamentals of the combustion process itself and some of the mathematical modelling of this process that has been carried out—all essentially looking at combustion from the inside. The aim of this chapter is to

Combustion in a spark-ignition engine
Applied Energy, 2000Abstract This paper describes a simple analysis for the prediction of pressure within a spark ignition engine. This is done by modelling the combustion process using the Wieb function approach, which is an exponential function in the form y=1−e−axm, to calculate the rate of fuel burned.

A Dynamical Instability of Spark-Ignited Engines
Science, 1984A simple model for spark-ignited engines is proposed in which the residual exhaust gases of a combustion event affect ignition of the subsequent charge. The model is an example of a one-dimensional, discrete, nonlinear mapping of an interval. Laminar flame correlations incorporated within models for ignition exhibit Arrhenius kinetics. Small variations

POLLUTANT FORMATION AND CONTROL IN SPARK-IGNITION ENGINES
Symposium (International) on Combustion, 1975The fundamental aspects of pollutant formation and control in spark-ignition engines are reviewed. The pollutants examined are oxides of nitrogen, unburned hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide. The engine concepts discussed are conventional carbureted spark-ignition engines, the Wankel, and different types of stratified charge engines.

Knock prediction in spark ignition engines
1989A computer simulation of the thermodynamic processes within the cylinder of a spark ignition engine, together with a detailed chemical model of autoignition, is used to predict experimental data for gas temperatures and pressures taken from a production engine.

Simulation of spark ignition engine
Materials Research ProceedingsAbstract. The internal combustion engine (IC Engine) has found its place in various industries and consumer products, from generators to trucks and cars. They are also one of the most polluting devices developed, hence it is paramount to reduce the emissions from IC engines and to optimize their design to provide maximum performance with the least ...
