Studying cities to learn about minds: some possible implications of space syntax for spatial cognition [PDF]
What can we learn of the human mind by examining its products? The city is a case in point. Since the beginning of cities human ideas about them have been dominated by geometric ideas, and the real history of cities has always oscillated between the ...

Observed bodies generate object-based spatial codes [PDF]
Contemporary studies of spatial and social cognition frequently use human figures as stimuli. The interpretation of such studies may be complicated by spatial compatibility effects that emerge when researchers employ spatial responses, and participants ...

Personality attributes that predict cadet performance at West Point [PDF]
Using data from the United States Military Academy at West Point (N = 1102 and N = 1049) from two successive years, we examined psychological measures of cadets and the correlations of those measures with consequential outcomes such as cadet performance ...

Resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI) offers the opportunity to non-invasively study individual-specific brain networks. We propose a multi-session hierarchical Bayesian model (MS-HBM) that differentiates between intra-subject ...

ATP13A2 is involved in intracellular polyamine transport in lung epithelial cells
Spermidine transport in lung epithelial cells involves the polyamine transporter ATP13A2. Cell proliferation is associated with the upregulation of ATP13A2. Polyamines are present in all living cells and are implicated in various crucial cellular processes such as proliferation, apoptosis and autophagy.

Spatial representations of numbers and letters in children [PDF]
Different lines of evidence suggest that children's mental representations of numbers are spatially organized in form of a mental number line. It is, however, still unclear whether a spatial organization is specific for the numerical domain or also ...

Tandem VHH targeting distinct EGFR epitopes were engineered into a monovalent bispecific antibody (7D12‐EGA1‐Fc) with more potent ADCC without increasing affinity to EGFR. Structural modeling of 7D12‐EGA1‐Fc showed cross‐linking of separate EGFR domains to enhance CD16a engagement on NK cells.

KLK7, a tissue kallikrein‐related peptidase, is elevated in advanced colorectal cancer and associated with shorter survival. High KLK7 levels in ascites correlate with peritoneal metastasis. In mice, KLK7 overexpression increases metastasis. In vitro, KLK7 enhances cancer cell proliferation, migration, adhesion, and spheroid formation, driving ...
