Multimodal Registration via Spatial-Context Mutual Information

2011
We propose a method to efficiently compute mutual information between high-dimensional distributions of image patches. This in turn is used to perform accurate registration of images captured under different modalities, while exploiting their local structure otherwise missed in traditional mutual information definition.

Inferring and Distributing Spatial Context

2007
An increasing number of computationally enhanced objects is distributed around us in physical space, which are equipped - or at least can be provided -- with sensors for measuring spatial contexts like position, direction and acceleration. We consider spatial relationships between them, which can basically be acquired by a pairwise comparison of their ...

Spatial Perception in Infrastructural Context

2010
A very long time ago, man has acquired the ability to move faster than his body naturally allows him to do. He managed to expand his radius of activity by riding on animals. The yearning for the mobility that gives us geographical independence1 is one of the fundamental needs of humankind.
