Spatially Distributed Normative Infrastructure

2007
In previous work, we introduced an approach to describe and simulate environments for situated multi-agent systems, based on a language called ELMS. Here, we present extensions to our approach which provide the means to allow normative information to be distributed in environments shared by multiple agents.

Spatial distribution of cloud cover

International Journal of Satellite Communications and Networking, 2008
AbstractSatellite systems and high‐altitude platform systems working in Ka and V bands require the application of adaptive techniques in order to mitigate link degradations caused by atmospheric impairments such as those due to cloud cover. Among these techniques, resource sharing system techniques and site diversity need information on the spatial ...

Spatial distribution

2004
AbstractThe human brain is made up of an ordered three-dimensional array of smaller units, for example, the vertical and horizontal organization of neurons in the cerebral cortex. Knowledge of the structural relationship of these small units should provide more insight into brain function as a whole and how it doesn't function in pathological states ...

Spatially distributed spectral storage

Optics Letters, 1999
A new technique for overcoming the effects of excitation-induced frequency shifts in swept-carrier optical memories is proposed and demonstrated. Spectral storage capacity increases of more than 2 orders of magnitude were achieved through implementation of the method.

Inferring and Distributing Spatial Context

2007
An increasing number of computationally enhanced objects is distributed around us in physical space, which are equipped - or at least can be provided -- with sensors for measuring spatial contexts like position, direction and acceleration. We consider spatial relationships between them, which can basically be acquired by a pairwise comparison of their ...

Spatial distribution of muscle fibers

The Anatomical Record, 1995
AbstractThe analysis of Gates and Betz (1993 Anat. Rec., 236:381–389) of the spatial distribution of two different populations of muscle fibers in the lumbrical muscle of the rat is discussed. The conclusion that muscle fibers belonging to a single motor unit are distributd at random in most muscles appears to need reconsideration.
