Does Short‐Term Ambient Music Modify Perceptual and Cognitive Effects of Lighting Hue? A Brightness‐Controlled Study

open access: yesColor Research &Application, Volume 51, Issue 5, September/October 2026.
Twenty‐nine participants completed subjective evaluations of the environment, emotional state surveys, and a Raven progressive matrices task with and without ambient music (d major, 74 bpm) under four lighting conditions (white, red, green, blue). White lighting yielded the highest ratings for visual clarity, brightness, happiness, and focus; red was ...

ACP5‐positive macrophages contribute to cerebral oedema and neuroinflammation after traumatic brain injury

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 16, Issue 9, September 2026.
Integrated transcriptomic analyses identified an ACP5‐positive monocyte/macrophage population enriched in the injured brain within 1–3 days after traumatic brain injury (TBI). Pharmacological and genetic targeting of ACP5 attenuated cerebral oedema and neuroinflammation, preserved blood–brain barrier integrity, and improved long‐term cognitive outcomes.

Early Bird Special: Quantifying Tiger Shark Predation on Albatross Fledglings at Kure Atoll

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 9, September 2026.
Predators are often assumed to concentrate where prey are most abundant, but the most abundant prey may not be the easiest to catch. We studied tiger sharks hunting young albatross seabirds during an albatross fledging season at Kure Atoll, Hawaii. Surprisingly, sharks arrived and largely departed before fledgling numbers peaked and predation risk was ...

Construction and Verification of a Personalized Design Generation Algorithm for Light Luxury Jewelry Based on a Multi‐Constraint Shape Grammar Enhanced Diffusion Model

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 9, September 2026.
It proposes a personalized design generation algorithm based on Multi‐Constraint Shape Grammar (MCSG) enhanced Diffusion Model (DM). A set of MCSG which can analyze the deep morphological logic of jewelry is studied and constructed. ABSTRACT This study aims to solve the problems that the demand for personalized customization in the field of luxury ...

Radio Frequency Heating‐Induced Multilevel Injury of Plodia Interpunctella in Goji Berries and Concomitant Quality Variations of Goji Berries

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 7, Issue 5, September 2026.
RF heating reaches 52°C in 14 min (vs. 196 min for HA) and with 1.5 min holding achieves 100% larval mortality, inducing multilevel injury—cuticular damage, oxidative stress, mitochondrial dysfunction, and DNA fragmentation—while better preserving color, texture, and bioactive components than HA.
