Three-core weakly-guiding mode-selective fibre couplers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The coupling behaviour of two-core mode-selective couplers (MSC) depends on the spatial-orientation of the asymmetric higher-order modes. This restricts their use for mode de-multiplexing in few-mode fibre networks.

Multifunctional MIMO systems: A combined diversity and multiplexing design perspective

open access: yes, 2010
In this treatise we investigate the design alternatives of different multiple-input multiple-output schemes while considering the attainable diversity gains, multiplexing gains, and beamforming gains.

Water‐Stable Paper‐Based Laser‐Induced Graphene With Asymmetric Water Adhesion and Wettability

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Paper‐based electronics are attractive for sustainable and disposable devices, but often fail in wet environments. By introducing Parafilm into cellulose paper combined with laser conversion, two graphene surfaces with different water interactions are created.

Overcoming Printing and Interfacial Challenges in Liquid Metal Direct Writing for Integrated Stretchable Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Liquid metal direct writing is advanced from a technological and fundamental point. Utilizing a kinematic bed, printing on large surfaces with irregularities is enabled. Furthermore, a pressure‐driven flow during printing is discovered that affects the thickness of traces.

Flow‐Adaptive Gas Sensing Enabled Using a Uniform Au Nanosheet Sensor Array and a Neural Network Inference

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Integrated Au nanosheet sensor array enables simultaneous inference of gas concentration and flow rate via deep neural network analysis, without external flow control. ABSTRACT Gas sensor responses are considerably affected by gas flow rates, thereby inhibiting the accurate detection of target gas concentrations in variable‐flow applications such as ...

Spatial subchannel allocation algorithm based on multiuser MIMO/OFDM systems

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2006
Spatial subchannels in multiuser multiple-input multiple-output/orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (MIMO/OFDM) systems were invested. With the goal of maximizing overall data throughput the criteria of subcarrier allocation was derived and an ...

Channel estimation for spatial modulation orthogonal frequency division multiplexing systems

open access: yes2015 9th International Conference on Application of Information and Communication Technologies (AICT), 2015
A combination of spatial modulation and orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (SM-OFDM) has been recently proposed for multicarrier systems while assuming the perfect channel state information (P-CSI) available at the receiver. But, in practical scenarios, the estimation of CSI is crucial in order to detect the transmitted data coherently. In this
