Orbital Angular Momentum Multiplexed Free-Space Optical Communication Systems Based on Coded Modulation

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2018
In this paper, we experimentally investigate the turbulence mitigation methods in free-space optical communication systems based on orbital angular momentum (OAM) multiplexing.

Generation of Photon Orbital Angular Momentum and Its Application in Space Division Multiplexing

open access: yesPhotonics, 2023
In the last three decades, light’s orbital angular momentum (OAM) has been of great interest because it has unique characteristics that make it sought after in many research fields, especially in optical communications.

Joint Spatial Division and Multiplexing

open access: yes, 2012
We propose Joint Spatial Division and Multiplexing (JSDM), an approach to multiuser MIMO downlink that exploits the structure of the correlation of the channel vectors in order to allow for a large number of antennas at the base station while requiring reduced-dimensional Channel State Information at the Transmitter (CSIT).

Joint transform correlator with spatial code division multiplexing

open access: yesApplied Optics, 2006
A joint transform correlator may suffer from overlapping of the zero diffraction order of the output, which does not contain relevant information, and the correlation peaks that appear in the first diffraction orders if objects are not sufficiently separated. Such overlapping significantly reduces the signal-to-noise ratio of the identification process.

Investigation of Fan In and Fan Out Technologies for Multi Core Fiber

open access: yesGuangtongxin yanjiu, 2021
Spatial division multiplexing based on the multi-core fiber has been believed as a promising and effective way to overcome the foreseeable capacity crunch of single mode fiber transmission. Fan-in Fan-out (FIFO) technology for multi-core fiber is the key

Phase-Noise Compensation for Spatial-Division Multiplexed Transmission [PDF]

open access: yesOptical Fiber Communication Conference, 2017
The problem of correlated phase noise in spatial-division multiplexed transmission is studied. To compensate for the phase noise, an algorithm for joint-core phase-noise estimation and symbol detection is proposed, which outperforms conventional methods.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Guiding flow of light with supersymmetry

open access: yesLight: Science & Applications, 2022
The continuous supersymmetry transformation is applied to the silicon waveguides, and the guidance and conversion of any mode in a wide spectral range are successfully realized in experiments.

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...
