H.263 video transcoding for spatial resolution downscaling
Proceedings. International Conference on Information Technology: Coding and Computing, 2005In order to allow users to use handheld devices accessing video information, such as downloading and playing video files, there is a need to downscale the compressed video into lower spatial resolution and lower transmission bit rate. In this work, transcoding the compressed H.263 video into low spatial-resolution is discussed and realized.

Downscaling the environmental associations and spatial patterns of species richness
Ecological Applications, 2014We introduce a method that enables the estimation of species richness–environment association and prediction of geographic patterns of species richness at grains finer than the original grain of observation. The method is based on a hierarchical model that uses coarse‐grain values of species richness and fine‐grain environmental data as input.
